The 2nd Annual Freeze 'n Fly event certainly got off with the right weather for the event! Nine brave souls experienced the camaraderie of craziness at this winter fun fly, held on Saturday, 30 Jan. Fred had his Piper Cub outfitted with skis that provided fantastically realistic take-offs, but resulted in some perhaps typical nose-overs on landing. Dave Linthicum wowed the crowd with his precision flying skills - and came to Marsh's rescue by letting him use his plane for the flying events since Marsh couldn't get his Vibe started in the cold and had a minor landing incident with his primary fun fly plane, the E-Flite Extra. (It's since been repaired and is awaiting it's vindication flight when the current foul weather clears...) Hobby Hangar gift cards were won by the top three finishers in the flying events, along with two lucky members in the door prize drawing!
Thanks to all that participated - and a special thanks to Fred for organizing, Gary for cooking, and Denny for providing the chili! More fun will be had by all next year at the 3rd Annual Freeze 'n Fly!
